Why I Had to Write This Book

11/02/2026

Quando Os Ventos Mudam (Winds of Change) was never part of a strategic plan...

It began as a journey to Nepal.
It became a return to myself.

I did not go searching for a story.
I went searching for silence.

But in the quiet of nunneries, in the eyes of little nuns, in the vibration of singing bowls and the dust of ancient courtyards, something inside me shifted. Not loudly. Not dramatically. But permanently.

This book was not born from inspiration.
It was born from responsibility.

Responsibility to the little girls whose futures deserve expansion.
Responsibility to women who reach midlife and feel something awakening inside them, yet don’t always find language for it.
Responsibility to the artist in me who has always created not to sell, but to stay awake.

Quando Os Ventos Mudam is written in Portuguese because it is in my mother tongue that I first learned silence. And it is in that same language that I now choose to speak.

But its spirit does not belong to one language.
Its essence travels.

This is not a travel book.
It is not self-help.
It is not a spiritual diary.

It is a story of becoming.

A woman who carried the Amazon in her bones and found her echo in the Himalayas.
A woman who reached midlife and did not shrink.
A woman who understood that art is not a profession. It is devotion...

I had to write this book because something inside me asked to be named.
And because sometimes, when winds change, we either resist… or we rise.

I chose to rise.
